How it works

What is Dayforce Wallet?

Dayforce Wallet is a program provided by Ceridian that allows employers to offer their employees new ways to access their pay, including on-demand. When employers offer on-demand pay*, employees can access their pay as soon as it is earned, without waiting for their standard payday.

Participating employees may access their pay through a Dayforce Prepaid Mastercard®, which is easily managed through the free Dayforce Wallet mobile app1. Signing up for the Dayforce Card does not impact credit scores, as the Dayforce Card is not a credit card and there is no credit check. Since it’s a prepaid card, only the available balance can be used.

Once funds have been loaded to the Card, it can be used for purchases everywhere Debit Mastercard is accepted, to pay bills, to withdraw cash at ATMs, and to get “cash back” at retail stores during PIN purchase transactions. The mobile app can also be used to transfer funds.

What is the Dayforce Wallet app?

Dayforce Wallet includes a free mobile app to help manage the Dayforce Card. Available for iOS and Android devices, the app provides users the ability to see their real-time card balance and transaction history, as well as the ability to locate ATMs and transfer money to other accounts.

Who can use Dayforce Wallet?

Currently, Dayforce Wallet is available to companies that use Ceridian’s flagship platform, Dayforce, for HCM/payroll in the United States and Canada. Not all Dayforce customers have signed up for Dayforce Wallet, so ask your employer if you’re not sure. 

If you are 14-17 years old in the United States, you’ll need parent or legal guardian approval to complete your Dayforce Wallet registration. Follow the steps in the app to request approval, and an electronic document will be sent to your parent or guardian to sign and submit. It’s easy to do, right from the app. 

Do I need to wait for my Dayforce Card to arrive in the mail before I can begin using Dayforce Wallet?

Most registered users will have the ability to view their Dayforce Card account information in the mobile app once they complete their registration.* Once the card account details are available, users can then begin using their card as soon as funds are added. The card account details can be used to make purchases online or to add the Dayforce Card to a mobile wallet for purchases in person.

* Card account details are not available in the mobile app to employees based in New York or for instant issue cardholders.

Where can I find my Dayforce Card information in the app?

Card account details can be found by clicking on the card image on the home page of the Dayforce Wallet app or within the account section of the app.

Where can I find the terms of use, cardholder agreement, and other important documentation about Dayforce Wallet and the Dayforce Card?

On-demand pay*

How can I request my available pay be added to my Dayforce Card account?

From the main page, select “Add Pay to Card” and select the amount of available pay you would like to add to your Dayforce Card. You cannot undo this action, and this amount will be deducted from your normal pay, so proceed with caution.

Are taxes and other deductions withheld from my on-demand pay in Dayforce Wallet?

Yes, each time funds are withdrawn, Dayforce Wallet automatically protects or withholds the proper amount of taxes, garnishments, and other source deductions for you based on the transaction amount. The amounts are visible in your earnings statements on Dayforce.

Can I receive a detailed earning statement each time I add pay on-demand in the Dayforce Wallet?

Yes, each on-demand pay will have a corresponding earning statement available in Dayforce.

How is available pay calculated?

Available pay is the net amount of your wages available to you. This number will grow larger as you complete shifts, and it will shrink as your employer processes your regular paycheck. 

What happens to my normal paycheck when I have added on-demand pay to my card?

Within a pay period, the amount of money you have requested as on-demand payments is reduced from your normal paycheck. The earning statement will reflect each on-demand pay distribution separately, as well as a total with the applicable earnings, deductions, and total amount distributed.

Are there any limits to adding pay to my card?

Yes, the maximum that can be loaded to the Dayforce Card per day is $10,000. Your employer may also impose additional limits.

Register and get your card

How do I register for a Dayforce Card?

You can register for a Dayforce Card within the Dayforce Wallet mobile app by following the registration and card activation steps. Registration requires a valid email address, phone number, and a Dayforce account.   

If you wish to upgrade your Dayforce Card and take advantage of advanced features, U.S. federal law requires that we further verify your identity. We will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see a copy of your driver’s license or other identifying documents. You can upgrade your card within the Dayforce Wallet app and follow the necessary steps.

How do I get my Dayforce Card?

The final step in registering for Dayforce Wallet is to confirm your address so that a card can be sent to you. 

How do I activate my card?

To activate your card, call Customer Service at 1-877-723-7434 and select the Dayforce Card option for card activation. This number is also listed on the back of your card for easy access anytime. You will be required to set a PIN when you activate your card. If you received an instant issue card, you will receive a default PIN.  

How long does it take to receive the Dayforce Card?

You’ll receive your card in 7-10 business days. If you don’t receive your card by then, contact Customer Service at 1-877-723-7434, and they will be happy to assist you.

I haven’t received my card yet, where is it?

Please contact Customer Service at 1-877-723-7434, and they will be able to further assist you.

Can I get additional cards for my family members?

No, not at this time.

Why am I being asked to approve my child’s use of Dayforce Wallet and the Dayforce Card?

The Dayforce Prepaid Mastercard® and the underlying account associated with the Card are subject to the Cardholder Agreement, Fee Schedule and Electronic Communications Agreement. Because minors generally cannot enter into agreements of this nature, a parent or guardian must consent to the terms on the minor’s behalf.  

Using your card

Do I need to wait for my Dayforce Card to arrive in the mail before I can begin using Dayforce Wallet?

Most registered users will have the ability to view their Dayforce Card account information in the mobile app once they complete their registration.* Once the card account details are available, users can then begin using their card as soon as funds are added. How can I use my Dayforce Wallet Card?

You can use your card everywhere Debit Mastercard is accepted. You can use your card to make online and in-store purchases, to pay bills, and to withdraw cash.  

Where can I find my Dayforce Card information in the app?

Card account details can be found by clicking on the card image on the home page of the Dayforce Wallet app or within the account section of the app. 

Can I use my card to pay a bill or recurring monthly bills?

Yes, you may use the 16-digit Dayforce Card number printed on your card to pay any bills that can be paid via a debit card. 

Can I add my Dayforce Card to mobile wallet applications?

Yes, the Dayforce Card can be added to Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay

Can I add cash* to the Dayforce Card?

Employees have the option to upgrade their Dayforce Card, which unlocks additional features, including the ability to add cash to your Dayforce Card at thousands of GreenDot©  Reload @ the Register™  locations like 7-Eleven, CVS Pharmacy, Walgreens, and Walmart. 
 
*Service fee up to $4.95 applies. Subject to cardholder load limits. 

How quickly can I start using my Dayforce Card?

You can find your Dayforce Card account information, including your card number, expiration date, and CVV, in the Account tab of the Dayforce Wallet app. You can use these card details to start making purchases before your physical card arrives. 

Simply add your card details to your mobile wallet to make a contactless payment with Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay, or use the card details to make a purchase online. 

How do I find my account and routing information for my Dayforce Card?

The account number and routing number of your Dayforce Card account can be found within the Account tab, under the “Banking” section of the Dayforce Wallet mobile app. These numbers are only visible once you upgrade your card within the Dayforce Wallet app and have passed the additional verification requirements.  

If my balance is not enough for a purchase, am I able to use the balance toward a portion of the purchase?

Generally, yes, but be sure to check with the merchant before beginning the payment process as not all retailers accept split payments. If your purchase costs more than the balance on your card, most merchants allow you to simply pay the difference with cash or another payment method.  

Adding pay to your card

How do I add pay to my Dayforce Wallet Card

You can add your pay to your Dayforce Wallet Card in one of two ways:  

  1. Many employers offer their employees on-demand pay, which means you can add your available pay to your card at any time, without having to wait until your standard payday. Not all companies using Dayforce Wallet offer on-demand pay, so ask your employer if you’re not sure. More information about on-demand pay can be found below.  
  1. You can also have your pay automatically deposited to your Dayforce Wallet Card each pay period by setting your card account up for direct deposit. You can have some or all of your paycheck added to your Dayforce Wallet Card even if you also use the on-demand pay feature. How do I update my direct deposit in Dayforce?

To update your direct deposit in Dayforce, follow these steps: 

  1. Log on to Dayforce Web, select Profile and Settings. 
  2. Navigate to Forms, then select Direct Deposit.
  3. Select Add Account, then select Dayforce Card.
  4. Choose the amount of pay you want to add to your Dayforce Wallet Card each pay period.

How am I able to get my direct deposit pay early?

When you set up direct deposit, you may be eligible to receive your pay up to 2 days early. Some employers send payment instructions ahead of the actual payday. If they do, GO2bank, the issuer of the Dayforce Wallet Card, will credit the amount to your account when they receive payment instructions (instead of waiting for the actual payday) so you can enjoy your money early. However, it’s important to note that if and how early your deposit can be posted to your account is completely dependent on when your employer sends the payment instructions. As such, the availability or timing of early direct deposit may vary from pay period to pay period. 

Will I always receive my direct deposit two days early?

You might get your direct deposit two days early, one day early, or on your regularly scheduled payday. For example, banking holidays, the time of the day that transactions are initiated, and time zone differences can all affect the time between a payment being initiated and bank receiving the funds. 

If you don't receive your direct deposit early, it should arrive on your regularly scheduled payday.

Is there anything I need to do to get paid up to two days early? Are there any fees?

To get paid up to two days early1, you will need to register for Dayforce Wallet and have direct deposit set up for your Dayforce Wallet Card. After that, there is nothing additional to do and there are no fees for direct deposit.  

1 Early direct deposit availability depends on payor type, timing, payment instructions, and bank fraud prevention measures. As such, early direct deposit availability may vary from pay period to pay period. The name and Social Security number on file with your employer or benefits provider must match your GO2bank account to prevent fraud restrictions on the account. 

How quickly can I access funds on my Dayforce Card?

Once funds are loaded to your card, you can begin using it. Subject to transaction fees and limits; please see the Cardholder Agreement.

Advanced card features

What are the advanced card features of Dayforce Wallet?

If you choose to upgrade your card, you get all the same features of the Dayforce Card, plus the ability to add funds from other sources, including cash, other bank accounts or pay from other employers. You can also use your card internationally to make purchases or ATM cash withdrawals. International Transactions Fees, International ATM Fees, and International ATM Decline Fees apply. How do I upgrade my card? Do I need my employer’s approval to do so?

The choice to upgrade your card is entirely up to you. You can upgrade your card within the Dayforce Wallet app. You will need to verify some additional information to take advantage of these features. As required by federal law, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see a copy of your driver’s license or other identifying documents.

Traveling with your card

Can I use the card for purchases and ATM money withdrawals outside of the U.S.? What are the associated fees?

If you choose to upgrade your card, it may be used outside the U.S. for purchases and ATM withdrawals. International Transaction Fees, International ATM Withdrawal Fees, and International ATM Decline Fees apply. See the Fee Schedule for complete details.

Card management and fees

How do I dispute a transaction on my account?

If you see a transaction you don’t believe you made, please contact Customer Service immediately at 1-877-723-7434.

What does it cost? Are there any fees?

There are no balance minimums, monthly fees, or fees to add your available pay to the Card. Additionally, there are no fees to make purchases, receive cash back during PIN purchases, withdraw cash at MoneyPass® ATMs, or transfer money to other financial institutions. Consult the Fee Schedule for a complete list of fees that do apply.

Transaction and spending history

Can I view my transactions and statements?

Transactions can be viewed in the Dayforce Wallet app, categorized by different types such as spending, withdrawals, and transfers. One year of history is available in the app. Call Customer Service to request 24 months of written transaction history.

How do I check my card balance?

View your card balance in the Dayforce Wallet app or by calling Customer Service toll-free at 1-877-723-7434.

ATMs and access to cash

How do I find an in-network ATM to withdraw cash?

There is an ATM locator in the Dayforce Wallet app, which will help you find the closest MoneyPass® ATM near you. To navigate to this feature in the App, go to your Account. Scroll down to the Help section, click on Find ATMs Near Me. You can also use the ATM locatorhere

Are there limits related to ATM withdrawals?

Yes, you are limited to withdrawing $510 per day. The ATM operator or network may also impose other limitations.

Is there a default PIN? If so, how do I change it?

You will be required to set a PIN when you activate your card. If you received an instant issue card, you will receive a default PIN.  

To update your PIN, please tap Account. Click on Manage Card PIN, and then Change PIN. A one-time passcode will be sent to the mobile number associated with the account. Enter a new 4-digit PIN, re-enter the PIN to confirm, and then type in the one-time passcode. Finally, tap Change PIN and you should be all set. If you any questions or issues, please contact Customer Service at 1-877-723-7434. 

Lost or stolen cards and devices

Is there a charge for replacing my Dayforce Card?

You are allowed one free replacement card during each calendar year. For each additional request per calendar year, you will be charged a $5 Card Replacement Fee. Expedited shipping of your replacement card is available upon request at an additional cost of $25.  

I lost my phone, can someone else request an on-demand pay out for me?

You must be logged in to the Dayforce Wallet app to request your earned pay. To ensure no unauthorized users can gain access to your app, we recommend you double-check your device’s security settings.

What if my Dayforce Card is lost or stolen?

Please notify us immediately of the loss, theft, or unauthorized use of your Dayforce Card. Call Customer Service at 1-877-723-7434, 24 hours a day.

Transfer funds

Can I transfer funds from the Dayforce Card to another bank account?

Yes, you can transfer funds to an external bank account using the Dayforce Wallet app. However, one of the benefits of Dayforce Wallet is that it is designed to help employees manage their pay and expenses all in one place.  

How do I transfer money to another bank account? Are there any fees?

To transfer money to another bank account, you must first validate the bank account information. Once this is complete, it is simple and easy to transfer funds from your Dayforce Card to a bank account using the bank’s routing and account number, such as you’d find on a check. The funds are sent to the bank and typically received in one to three business days. There are no fees to transfer funds to another account, although transfer limits may apply.  

Security

How are funds secured?

Access to your Dayforce Card is protected by a unique Personal Identification Number ("PIN") as well as security measures designed to protect you from unauthorized use of your card.

Is there fraud protection on the Dayforce Card?

You will have no liability for transactions that were not authorized by you if you exercise reasonable care in safeguarding your card from risk of loss or theft and, upon becoming aware of such loss or theft, promptly report such loss or theft by calling Customer Service. See your Cardholder Agreement for complete details.

Is this Dayforce Card backed by the FDIC?

Dayforce Card account funds are FDIC-insured through Central Bank of Kansas City. 

How is my personal information protected?

We follow strict procedures to ensure that your card account and personal information are protected. For more information regarding your privacy, please view the Privacy Policy.

Account changes

How do I close my Dayforce Card account?

You can close your Dayforce Card account by calling 1-877-723-7434. Removing the app does not close your account. 

How do I reset my password?

If you forgot your password, there are two ways you can create a new one. Follow the steps below in the Dayforce Wallet app: 

  • Tap on the Forgot? button  
  • Enter your account email address and tap Next to continue
  1. If you are asked to choose how to receive a code*: 
    1. Select “Email Me”,“Text Me”, or "Call Me” 
    2. Enter the One Time Passcode sent to the selection you made  
    3. Create your new password 
  2. If you are asked to enter the code that was sent to your email**: 
    1. Enter the code you received 
    2. You’ll be asked to answer security questions to verify your identity 
    3. Once verified, create your new password 
*To use this feature, your device needs to meet the following requirements: 
 
  1. Your device needs to be registered with Dayforce Wallet. This can be accomplished by logging in to your account on this device. 
  2. You need to have a passcode or biometric login enabled (Face ID/Touch ID on iOS or fingerprint/face recognition on Android). 
**If the email you enter is not associated with a Dayforce Wallet app account, you will not receive a code. 
 

How do I enable two-step verification?

To enable two-step verification, go to the Account screen in the Dayforce Wallet app. Under the Security section, tap Two-Step Verification and toggle the Protect my account option to turn it on. The button will turn light pink/purple.  

This allows two-step verification to occur occasionally and launch when using a new device. You can also choose to have two-step verification occur every time you log in. 

I’ve changed my name/address/phone number or other relevant information. How is this updated in Dayforce Wallet and on my card?

To change your phone number: navigate to the Account screen. In the Personal Information section, tap the mobile number. Click on Change Number. Enter your NEW mobile number and tap Next. A code will be texted to the number created. Enter the code and tap Done

To change your user ID/name and address, or other relevant information, please contact Customer Service at 1-877-723-7434 to make applicable updates. You may be asked to provide additional information to protect your account. 

What happens if I leave my job or I lose my job?

Upon separation from your company, you will no longer be able to receive pay on your Dayforce Card, but you will still have access to any remaining funds as shown in your card balance. You can continue to add funds to your card, including pay from another employer. If your next employer doesn’t offer Dayforce Wallet, you can still have your direct deposit set up to go to your Dayforce Card. If your next employer does offer Dayforce Wallet, you can link your card to the new employer.   

Refer-A-Friend

What can I earn?

You’ll earn a $40 Referral Bonus for each person you refer who signs up and then makes a purchase of at least $10 on their Dayforce Prepaid Mastercard®️. They’ll earn $40 too!

You can earn up to $500 in a calendar year.

What if my friend forgets to use my referral code?

Don’t worry! Your friend will have up to 7 days after they successfully sign up for the Dayforce Card to input your referral code. During that time, they can go to the Account tab, find the Rewards section, and tap on “Enter Referral Code”.   
 

When and how do we get our referral earnings?

After your friend successfully signs up for the Dayforce Card and makes a purchase of $10 or more using their card within 90 days, we’ll credit $40 on your Dayforce Card within 14 days of the qualifying purchase.

Can I keep referring friends after I earn $500 in a calendar year?

Yes, you’ll still be able to refer friends even after you earn $500 in a calendar year, but you won’t earn $40 from those referrals. You’ll start earning again the next calendar year. For example, if you’ve already earned $500 in 2022, you’ll next be eligible to earn Referral Bonuses on or after January 1, 2023.

If your friend registers using your code and makes a purchase of $10 or more, they will still be eligible to earn $40 even if you have hit your annual limit of $500.

A friend sent me a referral code: how do I sign up for Dayforce Wallet?

The message your friend sent you includes a link and a referral code. Use the link to download the Dayforce Wallet app, and then sign up for the Dayforce Card. During the sign up, you’ll be asked if you have a referral code. Tap the “Enter Referral Code” button and then enter the code from your friend’s message. That’s it! Then make a purchase of $10 or more using your Dayforce Card within 90 days to earn your $40. We’ll credit $40 on your Dayforce Card within 14 days of the qualifying purchase.

Who can I refer?

Dayforce Card Refer-A-Friend is available in the U.S. to eligible employees of companies who use Dayforce for payroll and have launched Dayforce Wallet. If you have the app, your coworkers may be eligible too. If you have friends who work for other companies that use Dayforce Wallet and live in the U.S., they may also be eligible. When in doubt, your friends can check with their payroll administrator.
 

Cash back rewards

How do I earn cash back?

Earning cash back is easy and automatic. Just make qualified purchases at participating merchants.

What are Dayforce Wallet Rewards?

Dayforce Wallet Rewards is a program that gives you cash back when you shop with thousands of brands, including local businesses and online stores. There are no coupons to clip, no code to show a cashier, and no promo codes to keep track of. Simply receive cash back when you use the Dayforce Wallet Card to make qualifying purchases at participating merchants.

How much cash back do I earn for using an offer?

Each merchant is different, and the cash back percentage you earn will be shown next to the offer and within the offer details. Make sure to check the offer details for any limits, exclusions, or restrictions the merchant may have as part of their offer. 

Where do I find cash back offers, and how do they work?

Cash back offers are found in the Dayforce Wallet app and will earn you cash back when you pay with your Dayforce Card.

Online Offers must be completed through the app. To earn cash back, open the offer, and tap the "Shop" button. You'll be redirected to the merchant's app or website, where you must complete the purchase with your Dayforce Card to be eligible for cash back.

Every offer is different, and if you want to earn cash back for an online purchase, you’ll want to double-check the offer details to be sure it includes cash back. Clicking on an offer will give you more information, and by scrolling down to the More Info & Fine Print section, you'll see any limitations exclusions, or restrictions the merchant may have as part of their offer.

You can also earn cash back at local businesses in your area. They will appear in your app when that business location is participating in a cash back offer. Simply visit the local merchant you found listed in the app at the specific street address, pay for your purchase with your Dayforce Card, and you will receive cash back after you have made your purchase.

How long does it take to receive my cash back?

A pending purchase will display as an estimated amount of cash back you will earn in your account summary; the amount is not final until the purchase transaction is settled. Once the transaction is completed, earned cash back will be applied to your Dayforce Card account. Transactions typically complete within 1-5 days but can take up to 90 days depending on the merchant.

Why are my offers different from my friend or family member’s offers?

Merchants may target their offers to our user base; this means that the offers you see may come or go depending on the offer the merchant wants to promote. To see what offers are currently available to you, always make sure to check the Dayforce Wallet app. Offers change regularly.

System requirements

What are the system requirements for the Dayforce Wallet app?

At this time, mobile phones are supported for both iOS (version 13 and higher) and Android (version 6.0 and higher). Tablets will be fully supported in the future; currently, they can be used, but optimal functionality is not guaranteed.
